T Mobile Prepaid Cell Phone Plans:
There are four different prepaid plans offered by T-Mobile, starting with their basic pay as you go plan which allows users to top up their minutes using refill cards. The $10 refill card provides 30 minutes of time, the $25 gives 130 minutes and the $50 card gives 400 minutes, and when users purchase the $100 refill they are automatically enrolled in a Gold Reward program offering 15% more minutes for every refill card purchased, as well as 1000 minutes (including the 15% bonus).
You can also choose T-Mobile’s pay per day plan which starts with a daily access fee of $1 for the days that the phone is used. This will bring you unlimited night minutes after 7pm as well as unlimited mobile to mobile minutes, with other calls charged at 10 cents per minute. T-Mobile’s FlexPay plan is a more flexible option allowing users to choose from popular post-paid calling plans but allowing them to use them in a prepaid plan.
If users choose to sign a contract on this plan they will also be entitled to a subsidy towards the cost of a handset. T-Mobiles Sidekick plan costs $1 per day access charge and gives the user unlimited text messaging, email, web browsing and all other calls at 15 cents a minute.
Pros: Customers can get all the benefits of T-Mobile’s post-paid plans but with the benefit of a prepaid service, in the FlexPay plan.
Cons: When choosing to refill your card with a lower value card calls can work out quite costly, for example calls work out at 33 cents a minute with the $10 refill.

Very costly! I use the NET10 prepaid service which works out to 10c a minute, at any time and even for long distance calls. NET10 also doesn’t charge for roaming.
And this is the best- recently when I bought a new NET10 phone they included 300 minutes and 2months of service for FREE! Now that’s great value!
I have recently heard a lot of good things about Net10. It seems to be a very good option for moderate cell phone users. Thanks for your comment.
Sometimes I have a hard time selecting which mobile phone to buy. there are too many options to choose from. I know I want a prepaid phone, but I still have my work cut out for me.
T-Mobile just released a $50 prepaid phone plan that looks pretty decent. I might read some more about it.
Yeah, T-Mobile has made some recent changes and additions to its prepaid plans. It might be a good option for you. You should also have a look at TracFone, Straight Talk, and MetroPCS to get a good hold on what is out there.
Isabel,
I agree. My problem is that there are new phones coming out every day and I have a hard time choosing which one I want to get. It is hard to choose your phone sometimes and especially your next plan and provider.
T-Mobile has some very good postpaid plans too. But I still prefer prepaid to contract plans–it’s just the way I am. I’m looking forward to the new releases in 2011.
T-Mobile has been a good service for me. I have had 3 prepaid phones with them.
I love T-Mobile and Nokia phones.
When does the Nokia x2 t-mobile phone come out? I am looking forward to that phone. I read something about it either on this site or another t-mobile site called tmonews.com or something similar. I remember thinking the x2 looked awesome. I haven’t heard much about it lately. What do you think about the straight talk plans? I’ve heard some stuff about them too.
I love the T-Mobile prepaid phones. I have been using the company for about 8 months now and it’s been amazing. I have had barely any dropped calls and it doesn’t cost me much money. tmobile has a lot of good phones too and i even recommended it to my cousin.
