1) Find a T-Mobile retailer or visit the website.  

2) Review the available plans to find the one that works best for you.  If you purchase a T-Mobile starter kit, you will receive a phone and some startup minutes.

3) Add any other “extras” you may be interested in, like text messaging or games.

4) You will receive instructions on how to activate your new cell phone.  Follow the steps and soon your phone will be live and you will be given a phone number as well as an email address through the company.

5) Refill minutes as necessary.  You can purchase talk time through T-Mobile’s website, at a store, or over your phone.  When you buy the 100 dollar refill, you automatically get enrolled in the Gold Rewards program, which gives you 15 percent more minutes for each card you buy. The 100 dollar card gives you 1000 minutes, which includes the 15 percent bonus.

6) If you want to discontinue your service, just use up your minutes and don’t buy refill minutes.  Your service will be cancelled automatically.
