Verizon Makes More Changes to Compete

Verizon Wireless, one of the most-used wireless providers recently revamped its service for prepaid cell phones in a bold move for new customers. Verizon now offers an unlimited prepaid plan that you can read more about if you follow the link at the bottom of this post.

This was a move to be more competitive in a marketplace where consumers have a lot more options and prepaid is looking like a better and more cost-effective means of telecommunication. In another move to secure more landline customers, the telecom giant may soon be releasing a $5 phone plan. Last year, Verizon lost just under 4 million customers.

This speaks more to the emerging trend of people going with mobile phones or cable and home phone bundles, rather than fallout for this particular company.  A cheap landline would be a welcome backup for those who would feel more secure with an extra line or simply want the convenience.
