Boost Mobile recently released its unlimited prepaid plan, which of course has its downfalls. There are network issues with Boost especially when comparing to companies like Verizon. But still, this new unlimited plan costs $50 flat for unlimited text and talk time. This is a pretty competitive price. I remember reading an article at the time that said this would have no effect on the cell phone market and would not force other wireless companies to lower their prices.
This is not looking to be the case at this point. Many people are feeling the pinch of a monthly cell phone bill well over $100. That hurts at the end of the month and many people are questioning whether they want to pay such a high cost for cell phone usage especially when there are decent competitors jockeying for their business by offering lower rates and even pretty cool new prepaid handsets.
AT&T may be feeling the pain and soon could be lowering their iphone rates. I hope so for all you iphone users out there. I mean how cool are those apps anyway? Are they worth $100 a month?
