At CTIA a year ago we learned that Nokia unveiled the 3606, an AWS-band phone. We played the guessing game at that point: which carrier would it land on? Would it be affordable, and offered by a prepaid or one-fee per month unlimited payment carrier?
We finally got the answer: Cricket Wireless. It’s a music phone, which is always a nice feature these days. You’ll need to take advantage of the microSD card, as the phone only comes with 15MB of internal memory, above average for this class of carrier, but not enough if you plan on having music.
It is also Bluetooth ready, it’s equipped with a 1.3 megapixel camera, and has a 262k color internal display. You can get it for $179.99 from Cricket right now, which isn’t bad at all. No contracts necessary of course.
