Straight Talk Prepaid Launches Nationwide

tracfone-straight-talkThe Straight Talk prepaid phone plan was designed by TracFone, the largest prepaid wireless provider in the United States, to be sold online and at Wal-Mart locations.  Originally, the plans were only released in a limited number of stores. Now, after great customer response, the plans will go nationwide and will be available across the country.

There are two Straight Talk plans available.

The $30 plan includes 1,000 minutes of talk time, 1,000 text messages, and 30 MB of mobile web access.  The $45 plan gives users unlimited talk time and text messages and unlimited web access.  Both plans, which run on Verizon’s strong network, provide nationwide coverage and 411 service.

Clearly, both of these plans are attractive.  If you use a lot of talk time, the unlimited plan is for you.  If you talk a little less–under 1,000 minutes a month–then the cheaper plan may be for you.  Keep in mind that both of these plans are prepaid, which means you sign no contract and have no commitment whatsoever.  Prepaid also saves people money every month in general.

The average adult spends $80 a month for 1,000 minutes, according to a statement released by Wal-Mart, so there is the opportunity for great savings with Straight Talk.
