New Nokia E5 Straight Talk 3G Prepaid Smart Phone

I’ve been keeping my eyes open lately for the best new prepaid smart phones.  The reason I’ve been looking at prepaid phone is because the idea of having no contract (and having a nice phone to boot) is very compelling to me.  I’ve had a Verizon contract phone for the bulk of my life (yes, that sounds very long).  It’s true.  Since I’ve had a cell phone, it’s always been on the Verizon wireless network.  I started looking for prepaid phones about a year and a half ago.  Since then, I cycled through MetroPCS, TracFone, and even the Verizon Unleashed prepaid deal for a brief period of time, but eventually landed on Straight Talk Wireless.

Straight Talk is interesting because it actually utilizes Verizon’s network in parts of the country (and AT&Ts in other parts).  The phone that really sticks out to me right now after examining almost all of the phones from this company is Straight Talk’s Nokia E5 smartphone.  It’s the latest phone to be released to Straight Talk.  I not only like the look of this phone, but I also like the feel of it (it’s actually mostly plastic except for a metal battery door), and I love the screen.  Since this Nokia Straight Talk smart phone is to be used with the Straight Talk unlimited plan, it makes sense that you want a screen that is amenable to surfing the web.  Unlimited web browsing is my favorite thing with this phone.  Sure, you can’t watch videos that well, but if you’re looking for a phone number, directions (there’s actually a voice-guided navigation feature on this phone) then you’re in luck.

The Nokia E5 for Straight Talk is a 3G capable wifi phone that can connect to the Internet in a coffee shop or wherever there is wifi, which saves on your time usage.  The Nokia E5 (like the Nokia E71 and Nokia 6790) is prepaid and does not require a contract.  This makes me happy, since I do not have to feel like I’m stuck with a company.  If I ever get tired of my phone, I can just walk away and sell the E5 on eBay.

Another new phone that’s been released is the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim.  At $179 with no contract and the unlimited Straight Talk plan, this phone is a very good deal.  It has ample processing power, a good camera, and a sleek look that makes it a great fit to be your Android prepaid phone (with unlimited plan).  One interesting thing about this phone is that it operates on the Verizon network–so if you’re in an area that has Verizon network capability, this phone is available to you.  All the other Straight Talk Androids run on Sprint’s towers.  You don’t need to do anything special to get this phone–if it is available in your area, it will pop up in the Buy Phones section of the Straight Talk website after you key in your zip code.  See if this phone is available to you at StraightTalk.com

LG Optimus Black is another good Android phone to consider if you’re looking for a phone with the unlimited plan from this company.  Boasting a 1 ghz processor, a 5 megapixel camera, and a beautiful screen, this phone is a true competitor for your business.  It’s the highest performing phone ST has at this phone.  Have a Look.
