Verizon $50 Prepaid Unlimited Plan Coming Soon

Verizon is currently working on releasing a new unlimited prepaid plan that will cost $50 a month. That’s right, the big V will soon have an unlimited PREPAID plan for all of you contract-phobes out there who love Verizon’s strong service but don’t like to sign on the dotted line for two years of servitude. This is interesting news because Verizon and TracFone and have been working together on the Straight Talk unlimited plan ($45), but has only really allowed the company to use its prepaid networks in certain areas of the country.

Verizon even went so far as to create a landing page on its website for what it is tentatively calling its Unleashed Unlimited prepaid plan. This is good news for prepaid users out there who want one more option to bounce off of as they look for the best deal in town on a prepaid plan. Verizon tends to deliver when it comes to service areas and no dropped calls, so if the plan really allows for unlimited web browsing, calling, and text messages, then I might just have to sign up for the newest Verizon unlimited prepaid plan.

Best Straight Talk Cell Phone

The best Straight Talk cell phone at the current moment is probably the Samsung r355c, but this isn’t what most users of this prepaid brand will tell you.  The truth is that the Samsung Finesse r810c is probably the most revered phone in Straight Talk’s short history of being in existence.  People still want to purchase and use this phone even though it is no longer available for sale on the brand website.  The Samsung r355c is probably the most popular current phone available because it is priced well and does all the things most prepaid wireless customers look for in a cell phone.

See all available phones (including the Samsung r355c) at StraightTalk.com

best straight talk phone r355c samsungPrepaid users aren’t generally looking for a phone with all the bells and whistles.  In fact, they are usually looking for the opposite.  They tend to want a phone that will help them save money and won’t look too bad being pulled out of their pocket or purse, although looks and style really are far down the list as far as they are concerned.  Which phone is judged as the best Straight Talk cell phone is obviously going to be a very subjective argument since everyone has their own idea of what is the perfect phone.  But overall, there are some general criteria that can help us find out which phone satisfies the most needs of its users in general.

The Samsung r355c has a solid structure with a screen and a full qwerty keypad constituting the face of the phone.  It does not slide open or anything like that.  Instead, the phone is more like a Blackberry with everything you need on the face of the phone right at your fingertips.  It is a good middle of the road phone with a basic camera, web browsing ability, and a very good keyboard. Comparing it to the Samsung r451c phone, another Straight Talk phone, it is superior in my opinion because it does not have the sliding apparatus, which can deteriorate over time and takes away from the quality of the one screen.

Read a review of the LG 620G cell phone, another phone that runs with these plans.  Also, read a comparison of the brand new Nokia E5 to the Nokia E71.  If you’re looking at purchasing one of the better Straight Talk phones, have a look at this comparison.  It may help you discover which phone will be better for you.

New Straight Talk Phones

There is a brand new Straight Talk Android phone out now–and it’s the first Android phone model on this service.  It also is probably one of the better, if not the best, phones available with the Straight Talk Unlimited plan.  It has a nice touch screen, it downloads apps, and it takes voice commands and gives you step by step GPS by voice.  It’s a nice phone and the fact that it runs with the unlimited plan is an added bonus because it gives you the ability to actually use the full power of the Straight Talk Android phone.

Aside from the Samsung Precedent Android, the Nokia E5 is another Straight Talk release that got a lot of people excited about getting a prepaid plan.  This phone also works exclusively on the Unlimited plan and gives you full access to email, web browsing, and many other “smart phone” functions.

If I had to update this post, I would have to change my opinion and say that the Samsung Precedent is the top Straight Talk phone available right now.  It costs $149 with no contract and works with the unlimited plan, which is an additional $45 per month.  For an unlimited plan, paying under $50 is not bad.

Metro PCS Family Plan

It seems like there is a new prepaid phone plan coming out every single day.  This may seem true, but it’s not.  There really are only a few companies that are truly worth looking at.  These companies are TracFone, Net10, Straight Talk, Sprint, and Metro PCS.  The Metro PCS family plan has proven itself to be a very competitive plan and families across the country have snatched it up (in areas where MetroPCS has strong coverage of course).  Since Metro PCS is a regional provider, there are only certain areas in the United States where it is available.  Sure, the Metro PCS coverage area is expanding quickly, but still you want to know exactly where the coverage is before you buy one of these plans.

Metro PCS Family Plan Details

metropcs family plan detailsThe Metro PCS Family plan includes many benefits.  The first one is the you can save $5 per line on up to five lines, adding up to a total of $25 per month.  This is a nice savings in and of itself for Metro PCS customers.  Each of these five lines will get the use of unlimited talk time, which is a huge plus if you think about how many minutes five phone lines can use.  With the family plan from MetroPCS, you get to use any of the cell phones in the lineup.  So, whether you want to buy the MetroPCS LG Optimus M Android phone, the BlackBerry Curve 8530, or you want to get the much less expensive Samsung Stunt, you can do so and use it with the family plan.

With the Metro PCS Family Plan you get unlimited local calling, unlimited nationwide long distance, unlimited text messaging, picture messaging (also unlimited), and unlimited MetroWeb to start.  This plan starts at $40 per month with these listed options and goes up in $5 increments as more options are added to the plan you want.  This is of course in addition to the $5 it costs to add a new family line to the plan.

Choosing a Prepaid Plan from Metro PCS: Do the Research

If you’re looking for a prepaid cell phone, it’s always a worthwhile thing to examine your carrier’s areas of service.  If you want to look at the MetroPCS coverage areas and even learn a little bit about its customer service policies, I strongly recommend that you look at the official website for MetroPCS and do so.  The more information you have, the better you will do at making your ultimate decision.  There are other plans as well–you may be interested in the MetroPCS Unlimited plan.  Have a look at all of them before you make your decision.  Also look at TracFone, Straight Talk, and Net10 in order to compare the plans and find the best overall deal.  Remember, nobody knows what you need out of a cell phone plan as well as you do.  So trust yourself and make the best decision that works for you.

No-Contract Metro PCS Plans

The best part about prepaid plans is that there is no contract so you are never stuck with a company you don’t want to stay with.  If you make a mistake, you will always be able to move to another company.
